High Performance Recipe: Super Food Trail Mix

For Gary Roberts, UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex, the key to eating healthy on the run is preparation. Pack a cooler or lunch bag full of healthy snacks like trail mix, fruit, almond butter and apple, or veggies and hummus. Here’s one of Gary’s favorite trail mix recipes.

Super Food Trail Mix (serves 3-4)


  • 1 cup raw cashews
  • 1 cup raw almonds
  • ½ cup pumpkin seeds
  • ½ cup sunflower seeds
  • ½ cup raisins
  • ½ cup goji berries
  • ½ cup coconut flakes
  • Mix all ingredients together and enjoy.
