Thermal burns, also known as contact burns, are among the most common household burns. According to Jenny Ziembicki, MD, preliminary care for thermal burns varies, depending on the size of the burn. Here are some quick tips for quickly treating thermal burns:
- Remove the patient from source of the burn
- For a small burn, run cold water over it
- Larger burns should be covered with a clean cloth and taken to your local trauma center.
