music smiles

The Sonny Pugar Memorial, Inc.‘s “Music Smiles” program combines live music performances with music therapy. The program brings a stress-reducing environment to local hospitals and engages with patients and their families in various ways.

“I make music every day,” says Da Button Pusher, one of the members of the Music Smiles Program. “Because my heart beats.” The program encourages the audience to embrace music and motivates patients to realize that music does more than just entertain.

Listen to the healing power of music in this performance at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC.
