Female Patient

Let’s face it – life is busy. But, for those who live or work north of Pittsburgh, one thing just got easier – women’s health care services.

UPMC Magee-Womens Specialty Services is available in Cranberry. It provides comprehensive care, including obstetrics and gynecology, advanced breast cancer diagnostics, and reproductive endocrinology, among other services.

“We put our patients at the center of their care,” says Richard Beigi, MD, president of UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital. “It is our responsibility to provide best-in-class care to our patients in all of the communities we serve.”

This location, along with services at both UPMC Passavant campuses and the UPMC Outpatient Center in Hampton, is a continuation of UPMC’s commitment to advanced women’s health care in the north.

“Communities like Cranberry and Wexford are growing, and the women and families there can benefit from our robust gynecological and obstetrics services,” says Marydonna Ravasio, DO, an obstetrician and gynecologist at UPMC. “This center is also convenient for patients throughout Butler and Beaver counties and beyond.”

“This location extends the reach of UPMC’s world-class women’s health and comprehensive medical-surgical care,” Dr. Ravasio says.

Advanced Breast Cancer Diagnostics and Care

Breast cancer is one of the most common types of cancer. Approximately 1 in 8 women in the United States will develop breast cancer over the course of her lifetime, according to research by the American Cancer Society. It’s also the second most common cause of cancer death in U.S. women.

When breast cancer is caught early, more treatment options are available and can be successful, meaning patients have better outcomes. UPMC Magee-Womens Specialty Services at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex houses a full spectrum of advanced breast cancer diagnostics and care. That includes screening and diagnostic mammography and minimally invasive stereotactic breast biopsies.

Pregnancy Care – Close to Home

UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital has always put women and their babies first, while providing our care closer to home.

“We expect this center to optimize pregnancy care in the community,” Dr. Ravasio says. “The benefit of being close to home, among family and friends during a pregnancy, managing a pregnancy, cannot be underestimated for our patients. Pregnant women will receive top-notch care — UPMC Magee-Womens care — from our renowned staff here in Cranberry. And when it is time to deliver, they will do so at UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital.”

UPMC Magee-Womens Specialty Services is located at Suite 2M600 inside the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex at 8000 Cranberry Springs Drive, right off the Cranberry/Mars exit on Interstate 79.
