Magee's Volunteer Knitters

Santa Claus isn’t the only one coming to town — he brought tiny reindeer with him, too!

On the morning before Christmas Eve, Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC dressed its newborn babies as Santa and his reindeer in handmade and hand-knitted hats and blankets to celebrate the holidays. The outfits were exclusively made by the volunteer knitters at Magee.

Santa, AKA Jeff Hodges, chief nursing officer at Magee, was on-hand to greet the newborns and their parents, as well as celebrate the holidays by bringing some milk and cookies in the patient lounge for all to enjoy.

Parents spending Christmas weekend at Magee will get to take the hand-knitted hats and blankets home with them as keepsakes.
