High Performance Recipe: Pre-Workout Beet Juice

Beets are great for athletic performance due to nitric oxide increasing blood flow and oxygen to your muscles. That’s why this recipe from Gary Roberts from the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex is the perfect thing to drink before your workout!

Pre-Workout Beet Juice (serves 2)


3 beets (roughly chopped)

4 carrots (roughly chopped)

1 apple (roughly chopped)


Add all ingredients to a juicer (alternate between carrots, beets and apple)
